Countries that shower the most in the world

Brazil

When it comes to showers, Brazil is a leader and considered one of the cleanest countries. Although only 7% of Brazilians do not shower, 99% report taking a shower weekly. On average, Brazilians take two baths a day, that is, a total of 14 baths a week.

The demographic factor influences these data. The hot and humid climate in Brazil can influence the frequency of bathing, in addition to being a largely cultural issue for Brazilians. Some studies suggest that the preference for frequent bathing is more common in regions with a hot climate, as it helps to refresh and feel more comfortable when facing a heat of 40°C.

UK

As a great cultural demonstration, bathing habits in the United Kingdom are different from those in Brazil, with a lower frequency of bathing. While 83% of Brits report showering weekly – in their own way – only 32% prefer showers. This is significantly lower than the rate of showers taken by Brazilians.

This is a demonstration that the perception of bathing can and will vary. As a society full of refinement, it seems that hot tea is a nice substitute for a shower.

Germany

The preference for baths in Germany reaches 92%, with 20% of the population preferring a shower. Although Germany has a slightly lower bathing rate than Brazil, Germany is known for its strict standards of hygiene and cleanliness. This can be seen in their recycling policies, health care and other areas of everyday life.

China

Any surprises? About 85% of the Chinese prefer showers and 11% of the population prefer other types of showers. China is a populous country with many concerns about limited resources, which makes the shower a more economical and practical option for bathing. Furthermore, the climate in many parts of China is colder, which may influence the preference for showering over bathing.
