“Another wheel, another trip. And another lap, and another, and another... The laps didn't stop ", said one of the victims.
“It was 10 minutes, but to me it felt like an eternity. It wouldn't stop spinning, I started to feel very sick and to be very afraid of what could happen”, commented another.
Reason for lack of control
The daily SPD Notícias shared a video published by social media which shows the Kamikaze running non-stop for 10 minutes, causing terror to those who were on the toy.
According to maintenance staff, there was an electrical failure due to the heavy rain that was happening that day, and therefore, it was not possible to stop the device during those 10 minutes.
The toy was already turned off, however, with the strength and weight of the people, it was not possible to brake it. In this way, it continued to rotate only because of physics and the force of gravity.
Despite the panic, there was no accident with those involved, but it is not known if there will be future consequences for those who were on the toy.
After the incident, the toy was closed for the rest of the day for maintenance, reopening the next day. And to confirm the reliability in maintenance and in the park, the company that manages it published that the toy will stay even longer as an attraction in the park.
