However, the Federal government is based on a specific account for the payment – so each payment can indeed correspond to a different amount.
What is the account used to calculate the Gas-Aid?
The value of the benefit takes into account the national average price for 13 kg gas cylinders. Thus, until June 18 (the day before payments begin), the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) conducts periodic price surveys.
Based on this average – which, in June, was approximately R$103 reais – the Federal Government covers the average in all municipalities in the country. In June, unlike April, the value was R$ 1 cheaper.
Who can receive the gas voucher?
This benefit is restricted to families registered in the Single Registry of the Federal Government. In addition, the per capita family income must be less than or equal to half the minimum wage.
The benefit is restricted to one payment per household, and to receive it, you must keep the Single Registry updated with correct income information. If you do not know how your registration is, you must go to the Reference and Social Assistance Center in your city and request updates.
The payment of this additional aid is made together with that of the Bolsa Familia. And, generally, families that already receive this government benefit usually also receive the gas allowance.
It is worth mentioning that, in this month of June, the average deposit amount for beneficiary families is the highest that the Lula Government has ever seen, around R$ 705.40.
