Find out how to read deleted WhatsApp messages with this secret guide

Launched in 2017, the “delete for all” function allows WhatsApp users to delete messages from conversations in the app within two days of being sent.

This feature is very useful in situations such as sending messages wrongly, sending texts that are not related to the general conversation, etc.

However, many WhatsApp users hate this function, claiming that it can help people hide important information, among other questions.

But, is it possible to read messages that were deleted by third parties in WhatsApp conversations? The answer is that yes, to the relief of the disgruntled on duty, this is possible, but only on Android smartphones.

In the next two topics, we teach you how to do this in two different ways. Check out!

Check notification history

The first way to recover and read deleted WhatsApp messages is by checking the history of app notifications, which reports the exact moment of receipt of the message that was later off.

For that, do the following:

  1. Go to your smartphone's Settings menu and then to the "Applications", "Apps" or "Application Settings" tab. Terms may vary from model to model;
  2. Then look for WhatsApp and, among the application options, search for Notification History. When you find this section, activate it;
  3. With the WhatsApp notification history active, all messages that arrive will be saved, even if they are later deleted. That way, you can check it out whenever you want.

Download a message recovery app

Another way to rescue deleted WhatsApp messages is to download an auxiliary app that does this job, such as “Get Deleted Messages”, which is available on Google Play.

To be able to use the app, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Google Play, download the application and install it correctly;
  2. Then grant the necessary permissions, requested by the app upon installation;
  3. Once installed, “Get Deleted Messages” will start tracking any messages that are deleted on WhatsApp, storing them in a database that can be checked later.

To see the messages captured by the app, just open it and check the lists available on the home screens.
