In this sense, for five days, the workers suspended their activities and went on strike with the aim of to claim their labor rights which, in recent years, have not been readjusted by the conglomerate's brand LVMH. The stoppage happened in four of the brand's 18 factories.

During the protest, employees also claimed changes in workload. In an interview with the Business of Fashion, Denis Bertonnier, spokesperson for the CGT, disclosed that the shifts make it difficult to carry out other activities, such as, for example, more time with family and friends.

In the same conversation, Denis Bertonnier complained about low salary values ​​and last-minute notices for changes in schedules and shifts. According to unions, since June 2021, they have been trying to align an agreement with Louis Vuitton to provide improvements to employees.

Furthermore, the brand released a note as a form of transparency measure on the company's internal policies, communicating a recent salary increase of 150 euros in the monthly receipt and reduction of two hours in the weekly working day, going from 35 to 33 hours a week week.

"Louis Vuitton intends to calmly continue this dialogue to reach a final agreement", punctuated the company. However, for the CGT, such adjustments are not enough. The union asks that the amount reach 350 euros per month, in addition to bonuses.

While these protests take place, Louis Vuitton intends to increase the values ​​of the brand's products, according to a spokesperson for the French giant. In an interview with Reuters, the representative explained that such changes will be added to fashion products and accessories, perfumes and leather goods.

"The price adjustment takes into account changes in production costs, raw materials, transportation and inflation", she explained.
