Registration is free and must be done online until June 15th on the contest page or through the link.

The main function of the census taker is to interview residents during the collection period. Since the remuneration is paid for the production, it varies according to the time the server dedicates to performing the function, as well as the degree of difficulty in accessing the households.

The ideal workday for the role is at least 25 hours a week. The server will also undergo mandatory training before starting the Census. The forecast for the disclosure of the final result will be on June 30.

The selection process will be based on the candidates' curriculum analysis. “Candidates must fill in the form with data relating to their training and this analysis of qualifications will be classified. Those who are summoned will need to prove their title”, explains the Human Resources coordinator, Bruno Malheiros.

vacancies by state

The state of São Paulo is the federal entity that has the largest number of vacancies: there are 18,589 vacancies spread over 635 municipalities. Most of these vacancies are for the capital of São Paulo (5,426). The state of Rio Grande do Sul was offered 5,185 vacancies, which are distributed in 492 municipalities. In the state of Minas Gerais, which is the third federative entity with the highest number of vacancies, there are 4,633 vacancies.

In total, the IBGE will hire 206,891 temporary employees to work in the census. Of these vacancies, approximately 183,021 will be filled with census takers, who will undergo training between July 18th and 22nd.

“The complementary process aims to hire staff for vacancies that were not filled in the simplified selection process. The difference between the two selections is that in the complementary selection there is a curriculum analysis instead of a test and there is no registration fee”, clarifies Bruno Malheiros.
