Math Brain Teaser Answer
The middle number in each square is added to the numbers to its left and right to get the top and bottom numbers. Check out the mathematical explanation below:
In the first equation, we have the number 3 in the middle square and, by looking at the quadrant, it is possible to conclude that:
- 3 (middle number) + 2 (number on your left) = 5 (number on top)
- 3 (middle number) + 8 (number to your right) = 11 (number at the bottom)
In the second equation, we have the number 5 in the middle square and, when analyzing the quadrant, we conclude that:
- 5 (middle number) + 4 (number on your left) = 9 (number on top)
- 5 (middle number) + 14 (number to your right) = 19 (number at the bottom)
In the third equation, we need to find the missing number, which is the middle one. According to the conclusions of the previous equations, to find the middle number, just decrease the number of the top part with the number on the left side or decrease the number on the bottom part with the number on the side right. Look:
- 13 (top number) – 6 (left number) = 7 (middle number)
- 27 (bottom number) – 20 (right number) = 7 (middle number)
Therefore, we can say that the missing number is 7.
