What is an electoral discharge certificate?
The so-called Electoral Discharge Certificate is a document that attests that the voter has no pending cases in the Electoral Court (JE). Certification can be obtained online or even at Electoral Registry offices.
How can we access this certificate?
If there is no discrepancy between the data provided and the data recorded in the electoral register, the certificate can be issued online. The interested party must have performed the following actions and be present in person at the JE office:
- Have voted or justified absences in the last elections;
- Have responded to any calls to work as a polling station;
- Finally, in the case of an outstanding fine, it is necessary to pay it in order to be able to request the document later.
To do so, simply access the official website of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) or those referring to the courts in your region, the Regional Electoral Courts (TREs). In addition, it is possible to obtain this certification using the digital title application, called e-Título.
Step by step to issue the certificate
To access the certificate through the TSE website, simply follow the guidelines specified below:
- First, go to the official TSE website;
- Click on “Discharge Certificate”;
- Then fill in the personal data;
- Finally, press the “Send” button.
To access the certificate through the e-Título application, the guidelines are as follows:
- Access the e-Title application (download if necessary);
- Enter the menu and press “More Options”;
- Click on “Electoral Discharge”, and you will be ready to download the certificate.
Remembering that the service to withdraw this certificate is free both on the website and in the application, and which will be suspended again between October 31st and November 7th (week following the second shift).
