This novelty was announced by the Federal Government and came into effect on May 1st of this year. This will be a document that will make everything more practical, as it will have all the important and accurate information in just one document, meaning that people do not need to go out with several documents to places, running a great risk of lose them.
What's new in this new document
As said, in this new document the information contained in the CPF will also be inserted in the RG, thus it will have your health data, such as your blood type and if you are a blood donor. organs. In addition, it will also have the MRZ code, which is present in passports, thus making this document also accepted as a travel document.
As it is a digital version, it will also offer even greater security, avoiding possible fraud, and it will always be with the person without the risk of forgetting to take it somewhere important. It will have the possibility of electronic validation of authenticity via QR Code, including offline.
Regarding the validity of these new documents, the Federal Government announced that it will be five years for those who have up to 11 years of age, 10 years for those aged 12 to 59 and indefinite validity for those aged over 60 years.
How to apply?
In order for you to get this new document, you need to:
- Go to the issuing body of your state;
- Present the Birth or Marriage Certificate;
- The citizen's identification will be checked through the GOV.BR portal;
- Afterwards, the issuing body will inform the citizen about the deadline for withdrawing the paper document;
- Soon after receiving it, the person will also be able to access it in the digital version through the GOV.BR application.
