THE massage here in Brazil it is also known as “massage therapy”, as many of its practitioners believe that massage is a means by which improvement is sought for physical and mental problems. The main feature of massage is the ability to manipulate the other's body through touch.
The many types of existing massage often refer to different results. An example is the shaping massage, whose purpose is to physically shape the body, which differs a lot from ayurvedic massage, which, made with essential oils, offers a feeling of peace and tranquility to the recipient.
In fact, it is important to emphasize two terms commonly used to name agents participating in the practice of massage: the person who is lying down is considered the recipient, since she "receives" the massage, and the massage is done by the masseuse, or the "giver" of the practice.
