The Mega da Virada is the dream of almost all Brazilians, people of different ages yearn for this prize and wait the whole year to try their luck. The New Year's Eve award always surpasses previous years and this year will be no different. The prize that was expected to be R$ 450 million will now be R$ 500 million, an amount exactly 32% higher than the previous year.
The good news is that this award will go into someone's hands, after all it doesn't accumulate, so if no one is lucky enough to match the 6 numbers, the prize is divided among those who match 5, if no one matches 5, it will be divided among those who hit 4.
How does Mega da Virada work?
The Mega da Virada takes place annually and just like the Mega Sena, which takes place throughout the year, you can have the chance to become a future millionaire by spending just R$4.50 through a bet simple. The bet can be placed until 17:00 on the 31st of December.
The single bet works as follows: you have a card of numbers from 1 to 60 and then you must mark 6 numbers between them. To win you would have to match all 6 exact numbers in the draw.
However, as the chances of winning with a single bet are 1 in 50 million, many people prefer to dare and invest a little more in luck, making more expensive bets and with more numbers, thus increasing the chances of hit.
How to play?
You can play both by going to lottery shops and playing online through Caixa Econômica. However, online bets start at R$4.50, with a single bet of 6 numbers. Remembering that the more numbers on the same ticket you play, the more chances you have to win, so it's more a bet with 7 numbers is advantageous than 7 bets with 6, but of course the value increases with each number added.
