Agribusiness exports in April reach record

Brazilian agribusiness has consecutively broken exorbitant records in terms of exports. In fact, the sector's exports in the month of April totaled around 14.86 billion reais, another record. In addition, it is worth noting that this number represents an increase of 14.9% compared to April 2021.

In view of this, according to the survey prepared by the Secretariat of Commerce and International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, the increase in food prices in the international market, in theory, can explain the increase in this very high value in Brazilian exports, even after the drop in shipped volume (-13,2%). Also, it is worth adding that Brazilian agribusiness managed to register 51.5% of market share on top of the total exported by Brazil.

Thus, the exported products that most stood out in the month of April were those of the soy complex, such as oil, grain and bran, as well as beef and chicken meat and coffee. As a result, sector imports reached US$1.32 billion in April, around +14.8%, which, a priori, can be explained by the rise in average prices, which ended up increasing around 14,8%.

Thus, it is worth emphasizing that Brazilian agribusiness, as it has been growing since the end of 2021 (and also profited absurdly last year), will possibly break new records in the coming months. This is due to the increase in products and the lack of inputs in the international market, since, with the high dollar, profitability is at an all-time high for those who make a living from this business.
