In May 2018, Netflix became The Walt Disney Company and became the entertainment company with the highest market value in the world. Due to the large number of hits, Netflix decided to show the world a list of the 10 most watched movies/series in the world on its platform.

O Netflix Global Top 10 is the website that Netflix launched this past Tuesday (16) to display a list of most watched movies at the moment. The website consists of two language versions, English and Spanish. The "watched" numbers will be updated weekly.
The separation of titles is made into four categories, films and series in English and “foreign” films and series, and the lists sort the titles based on the hours viewed. Therefore, the titles are calculated based on the total number of hours that users watch each title during the week.
Netflix will publish Rankings of the top 10 titles from over 90 countries. That is, the list of most watched movies/series in each country. To date, Bird Box is Netflix's most watched English-language film, with more than 282 million hours watched in the first 28 days of release on the platform.
In the series category, Bridgerton (625 million hours) and Korea's Round 6 (1.6 billion hours) top their respective categories.
But why was this site created?
Finally, Netflix claims it launched the site after receiving negative feedback regarding platform metrics.
The platform explains that there is no perfect metric to measure the success of each title. But that hours of views can be a good indicator. Therefore, the site does not replace the “Top 10” shown on the netflix homepage. However, it also counts this top 10 on the website.
Netflix engaged an independent accounting firm to report on the metrics analysis. But he says he continues to establish the most watched titles autonomously.
