list of richest states
8 – Federal District
Despite not being exactly a state, it has a governor and cannot be ignored from this list. Brasília concentrates a large, extremely wealthy population, but its GDP is still “only” R$ 273.6 billion.
7 – Bahia
Among the largest in the country, Bahia has a relatively low GDP for its size and number of citizens. By the end of 2021, it reached only 293.2 billion GDP.
6 – Santa Catarina
Known for being home to the richest Brazilians and for having some very themed cities, such as Balneário Camboriú, it still does not produce as much for the Brazilian GDP. Its values reach around 323.2 billion reais.
5 – Paraná
Starting the TOP 5, Paraná's GDP is R$ 466.4 billion, standing out among the richest in Brazil.
4 – Rio Grande do Sul
Closing the trio in the south of the country, the state of Rio Grande do Sul has an impressive amount of R$ 482.5 billion.
3 – Minas Gerais
Now, entering the podium among the states with the highest volume of internal wealth, there is a small leap between the values that each one produces. In third place, Minas Gerais has a Bruno Domestic Product of 651.9 billion reais, almost 200 billion more than the previous state.
2 – Rio de Janeiro
The state of the “wonderful city” and the last capital before Brasilia could not be left out of the list, could it? Rio de Janeiro has a GDP of 779.8 billion reais.
1 – Sao Paulo
This may not come as a surprise to many people. After all, the value of São Paulo's GDP is greater than the sum of the amount of all states outside the top 3. As one of the largest commercial and business centers in the world, it owns a GDP of 2.348 trillion reais.
