Changes to M&M'S Chocolate
M&M's decided to make small changes to their characters and logo in order to make them look even more modern. In addition, they also debuted a new character, Purple, the first female peanut M&M.
In addition to the character's debut, there is another change they decided to make to the logo, which was to make the letters slightly thinner. As for the look of their characters, they changed their shoes, especially those of the female characters.
With that, Verde swapped her high-heeled boots for a much more relaxed pair of sneakers. Marrom got pumps with wider heels. Red and Yellow now show lace-up shoes, while Orange now has lace-up shoes. The blue one uses a shoe that gained a lot of fame in California.
They also decided to assign new names to each character, where each one is named after their color. All these changes were made to make consumers embrace the brand even more, as they will buy the ones they identify with the most.
The changes were rolled out online this week and will be incorporated into M&M packaging and other marketing materials later this year. Even with very light and subtle changes, the owner of the M&Ms brand seeks to bring more representation and do something that attracts the attention of consumers as soon as they buy a new package.
