Police investigation saved student's life
Upon arriving at the student's "house", the police discovered that the child lived with her father inside a car. The father, James Schwinkhard, 41 years old, left Oklahoma (USA) to live in Lakewood, Colorado, with the intention of providing his daughter with a better life after losing his job.
Expectations were dashed when they arrived in Colorado and the family car broke down. Through a video shared on YouTube, the father declared that this is a very difficult reality, as his daughter requires care that he was not available at the time.
After days, the father became uneasy when he realized that he was being watched by the police. Not recognizing why the professionals were watching his car, the father feared what might happen. Promptly, the officer in charge of the team approached and was willing to listen to the father's version and the child's version.
Police helped the family
The officers heard that the father lost his job and no longer had a home to live in. The person responsible for the action, James Butler, made himself available to take the child to school and to help them improve their lives.
“It was the right thing to do because at any point in our lives any one of us could be in the same situation. Offering assistance to another human being is the right thing to do.”
The team looked for a garage so that the car could be fixed, as well as trying to find a shelter for the father and daughter. Upon contacting the companies, it was decided that all services would be free. This case helped the family change their lives.
The repercussion of the story meant that James managed to get a new job, and he also received donations to furnish an apartment.
