The information was passed on to the press through the Press Office of the folder, as published by the FolhaDireda website. What is still missing, according to the text, is to establish a timetable for the contest to be held. For this, the agency is in advanced talks with the Ministry of Management and Innovation.

“Capes requested authorization to hold a public tender, with the prospect of offering 90 vacancies for the position of Analyst in Science and Technology still in the course of 2023”, says the note from the Department.

This is in keeping with a recent statement by the Minister of Management and Innovation, Esther Dweck. According to her, new evidence should be authorized by the end of May. In fact, the federal government expects to make more than 20 contests still this year.

As stated in official data from the federal government, via the Access to Information Law, there are 257 vacant positions at Capes. Approximately 18 retirements are also expected over the next four years.

It could be your chance!

When was the last contest for Capes?

The last competition to work at Capes took place in 2012. At the time, 140 vacancies were offered. There were 70 vacancies for Science and Technology Assistant and 70 for Science and Technology Analyst, funneled as follows:

  • 63 for general training;
  • 1 in Archivology;
  • 2 in Librarianship;
  • 4 in Accounting.

The salary of an Analyst, at that time, could reach R$ 8,124.68, depending on the candidate's degree. The working day was 40 hours a week, with a capacity in Brasilia. As for an assistant, the gain was R$ 2,711.33, with the same workload.

The difference is that the position of analyst was higher level, while the other was medium level – for this one, there was still a need to prove at least one year of previous experience in the activities of the office.

For both cases, there were objective and discursive tests and also evaluation of titles.
