CAPES opens registration for the 14th edition of the Theses Award

Entries are now open for the 14th edition of the CAPES de Teses Award. They can be made until May 31st. The selection will reward the best doctoral theses written and defended last year.

There are, in all, 49 areas of assessment recognized in the country. Those interested can participate in the selection process with graduate programs that had three or more theses defended in 2018.

Authors of awarded works receive a scholarship for a post-doctoral internship for a period of up to 12 months. Each advisor earns R$3,000 to participate in academic events. Participants also compete for the Grand Prize. Three theses will be selected, one for each main area of ​​knowledge.

Other special awards will be offered by CAPES partners in this year's edition. The Serrapilheira Institute, Ayrton Senna Institute, the Fulbright Commission and the Carlos Chagas Foundation will also offer prizes.

According to the regulation published in Notice nº 6/2019, the evaluation of theses will be carried out from June to August. There will be 49 winners. The disclosure of the result is scheduled for September 6. The awards ceremony will be held on December 12, in Brasilia.
