Child abused at school for not following dress code

Schools have rules, especially when it comes to clothing. They must be followed, right? Of course, but even if a student do not wear the appropriate clothing, the academic team must try to resolve this in the best possible way, especially alongside those responsible for the young person. Unfortunately, that was not what happened in this case, where a student was mistreated for “going against” the school's dress code.

A mother appeared on her account on TikTok she is very upset about what happened to her daughter.

The girl went to school and did not wear the required dress properly, so she was punished for that. What really catches everyone's attention is how the team handled it and what happened to the girl. The little girl's mother said that she just received a call, in which what happened was passed on. What made her angry was arriving at the school to see what had been done to her daughter.

It's okay that it's not okay to violate school rules, but was the way they acted appropriate?

The mother, as a way of venting, told what happened on her TikTok account. Apparently, she was furious and insisted on going into detail about the school's cruel and unnecessary handling of the situation.

What happened was, when she got to school, she discovered that she had duct tape put on her daughter's legs. after they saw that the jeans the girl was wearing were not the most suitable for the place because of the holes in the tissue.

She posted a video that has been viewed around 3 million times.

The girl's mother, Shana, recorded the moment she argued at her daughter Emma's school.

@shanahdrummond2 Am I overreacting, or am I justified in being pissed off that the school thought it was acceptable to put duct tape on my childs skin? I feel the school should've called me if they needed her to change her pants. We have never had an issue with a dress code before. The cheerleader uniforms are shorter than this. She was humiliated and had to hide it by tying her coat around the front of her. My daughter has eczema & sensitive skin and if she did n’t text us, she would ’ve sat all day with duct tape irritating her legs. #dresscode#policy#TheRealPussinBoots#school#madmomma♬ original sound – shanahdrummond2

Punishment with duct tape at school

The mother tried to find out who had that attitude and then asked the person if what she did was correct. The person responsible for the act said that that was a school policy and that it had to be followed.

In the video, she showed a photo of how the tape was on the clothes her daughter was wearing that day. The tape is red and was glued over the holes in his jeans, which were ripped and exposed some parts of his thigh. She also reports that the two never had a problem with school and that it would be the first time.

Regardless, I didn't think they would solve “the problem” like that instead of doing the right thing: “I think the school should have called me if they needed her to change her pants. We've never had a problem with a dress code before,” she shared. “Cheerleading uniforms are shorter than that.”

Other TikTok users have come to Shana's defense.

“Dress code or not, you call the parents and tell them to bring a change of clothes. You don't put duct tape on someone's kid!” one user commented.

"The issue isn't whether or not she was in the dress code, it's that they duct-taped her without giving her the option to call home to get new clothes," another person pointed out.
