Brazilian candidates usually stand out in the contest and place Brazil in second place in the international ranking.
Promoted annually by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the main objective of the contest is to encourage writing and literacy through the art of writing. In addition, it is expected to encourage the expression of creativity and the development of linguistic knowledge of children and teenagers.
Who can participate?
Candidates who can participate must be up to 15 years old and previously selected in the national stages. Regarding the prizes, in the state stage they will be between R$ 2 thousand and R$ 2.5 thousand. In the national phase, between R$ 10 thousand and R$ 10.5 thousand.
When will the results come out?
Both the state and national results are scheduled for May 8. The issue's theme will be: “Imagine that you are a superhero and your mission is to make all the roads in the world safer for children. Write a letter to someone explaining what superpowers you would need to accomplish your mission.”
In Brazil, it is the Post Office that carries out the contest, going through the school, state and national stages. The fourth step is performed by the UPU. To reach the final step, only one card is selected. Candidates may be from both public and private schools.

As in past editions, Brazil won three gold, two silver and two bronze medals. In the international ranking, the country is in second place, behind only China. The contest has the support of several educational institutions.
