Understand the new provisional measure for students with FIES debt
After the application of the provisional measure sanctioned by President Jair Bolsonaro, students who owe Fies will be able to receive a debt reduction. To obtain the 92% discount on the debt, the student must have an updated CadÚnico registration or have received emergency aid.

In relation to other students, the maximum discount will be 86% off. For this, the student must have joined the Student Financing Fund (FIES) by the second half of 2017 or for those who have a debt that has been overdue for more than 1 year.
