Why WhatsApp will no longer work on some models?
This had happened previously. As modifications and enhancements happen to apps, this causes their settings to change. However, for older cell phone models, the new versions end up being incompatible with their systems.
Thus, when trying to download the application, it becomes unfeasible. This occurs mainly when dealing with older models of smartphones, which do not have the latest versions of their respective operating systems.
Which models will be affected?
According to the application's developer, all devices running Android 4.1, including versions earlier and lower than these, or who have iOS 10 (and/or older) will stop downloading or updating the application.
This list includes the following models:
- Samsung: Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite, Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, Samsung Galaxy Trend II, Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2, Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, Samsung Galaxy Core.
- Apple: iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE.
- LG: LG Lucid 2, LG Optimus L3 II Dual, LG Optimus F7, LG Optimus F5, LG Optimus L5 II Dual, LG Optimus L5 II, LG Optimus L3 II, LG Optimus L7 II, LG Optimus L7 II Dual, LG Optimus F6, LG Enact, LG Optimus F3, LG Optimus L4 II Dual, LG Optimus L4 II, LG Optimus L2 II and LG Optimus F3Q.
