Pandemics, nuclear threats and climate attacks are responsible for reducing our lifespan on the planet. However, we are not sure when the end will come. However, the doomsday clock is largely responsible for indicating how close we are to the end. Recently your time was updated and 90 seconds is all we have until the apocalypse. So check out why.

Check now how the countdown to the end of the world works and why we have only 90 seconds until its arrival:
What is the watch?
In order to create alerts due to nuclear threats, in 1947 scientists created the Doomsday Clock to measure humanity's remaining time. In addition, the symbolic clock is also adjusted in relation to weather conditions, a factor added to the clock in the 21st century.
How does the Doomsday Clock work?
Through mathematical calculations, carried out according to the existing threats, the hands of the clock assume their respective positions. The landmark of the end of the world is represented by the time of 00:00, that is, midnight is the time of the apocalypse and the further away from this time, the better. Even with clashes between
U.S and Soviet Union in the 20th century, the clock, on its first count, pointed to 11:53.However, the watch has the ability to go back in time. Due to changes in habits that improve climate conditions and peace agreements, for example, the clocks are starting to move backwards. In this sense, we gained 5 minutes on the Doomsday Clock when the US and USSR limited their nuclear activities in 1960. That is, it went from 11:58 to 11:53.
If the clock reaches the final time, it will mean that some catastrophe has happened and human life has met its end on the planet.
Why 90 seconds to the apocalypse?
Due to Russia's constant threats of nuclear weapons, bad weather conditions and Covid-19, the Doomsday Clock was set to 11:58:30. Thus, the clock began to indicate that we have only one minute and thirty seconds to experience the end of the world.
The closest the clock came to the apocalypse was in 1953, when it registered two minutes to midnight. With that, the new schedule broke the record and we are closer to the end than ever.
