The growth of collections that are obtained through the Corporate Income Tax (IRPJ) and the Social Contribution on Net Income (CSLL) did the IRS register one of the best performances since the beginning of the historical series, in 1995, for the month of April and for the first four months of the year 2022.
In view of this, according to the collection analysis that was carried out on May 26, 2022 by the Ministry of Economy, the body’s total collection in April this year was above 195 billion, “recording a real increase (IPCA) of 10.94% compared to April 2021”.

With regard to the period from January to April 2022, the collection reached the value of 743.2 billion reais, representing an increase of 11.05% by the IPCA. “The increase observed in the period can be explained, mainly, by the growth in payments, mainly IRPJ and CSLL”. In this sense, the collections related to the IPRJ and CSLL ended up totaling a value of 48.104 billion reais in April, which represents a growth of 21.53%.
Therefore, it should be noted that the Revenue explains that this performance was due to the 36.11% increase in the collection of the monthly estimate; 12.24% referring to the collection of the quarterly balance sheet; and 11.39% in the collection of presumed profit. In addition, the Federal Revenue also highlighted that it is “important to note that there were atypical payments of approximately 3 billion reais by companies linked to the commodity sector”.
