the moment of retirement it is expected by all of us, but we cannot pretend that life will change radically. Rest days have arrived after long years of work and dedication, making many people start to feel lonely or bored. For Daryl Holmes, what made it difficult was having nothing to do.
Holmes is a 72-year-old Australian man who couldn't stand life as a retiree, choosing a new branch to work and have fun. His choice was none other than working at a McDonald's restaurant. Just one day, with nothing to do, was enough for the old man to go look for something to get his life moving. Crazy, isn't it?

Retired man seeks job at McDonald's to avoid boredom
One day was enough for him to apply for a job at McDonald's, north of Sydney, and he currently works as an experience leader to solicit customer feedback. He spends the day greeting people as they enter the restaurant, assisting everyone with ordering on the self-service screens.
Holmes confessed that he always loved working and couldn't deal with retirement life as he had no other prospects to enjoy life. Another fact that motivated the elderly man to return to the job market is that his wife had not retired, making the moment even lonelier.
In an interview with Sydney 2GB radio, being interviewed by presenter Chris O'Keefe, the retiree revealed that he loved the work routine and the best choice was to look for another alternative to occupy the mind.
This year, Holmes completes six years of work at McDonald's and is one of the oldest employees in the franchise. Beloved by the team, the retiree was very well received at the time and says he deals very well with everyone, in addition to being able to teach the younger ones a great satisfaction.
