According to information released by the Wall Street Journal, later this week McDonald's will temporarily close some of its offices in the United States.
The publication also informs that the action was justified by the fast food as a planning measure for a broad layoff plan that will be part of an alleged restructuring of the company.

The report cites an internal e-mail sent to employees of the McDonalds who work in the US and other employees from regions outside the country in the last week.
The content recommends remote work from Monday to Wednesday to enable some internal decisions. However, there is no information regarding the number of employees who will be fired and where they are from.

“During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions related to roles and levels across the organization,” said McDonald's US management, according to the report. WSJ.
Employees were also asked to cancel any in-person meetings with suppliers held outside of McDonald's headquarters.
In January, the fast food chain had already reported that it would review the staffing and this could lead to layoffs and expansions in some areas.
