Pedro Guimarães, former president of the Caixa Econômica Federal, is being accused of harassment sexual and moral. Thus, the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) opened an investigation to determine the facts in relation to its former employees. According to Lucas Furtado, Deputy Public Prosecutor at TCU, in a written representation, he justifies the decision by saying that such conduct can “put at stake” the moral values of the institutions.

The Federal Public Ministry preserves the identity of the victims, who reported inappropriate proposals, episodes of moral abuse and who, in some situations, were received by Guimarães with inappropriate clothes during trips. There were even cases of physical touching of her private parts. An employee, on condition of anonymity, claimed that, during a business trip, the former president would have said "what if the president wants to have sex with you?" while showing off in the hotel's sauna.
Caixa released a note rejecting any type of violence, harassment and discrimination by the institution. He declares that he is still investigating the case with Internal Affairs since May 2022, when the whistleblowers made contact. The institution also points out that there is a reporting channel for any and all employees to expose illegal acts within the company.
The former president confirmed his resignation from office, giving way to the current president, Daniela Marques Consentino. On the same day, Guimarães manifested himself on his social networks, publishing a letter sent to President Jair Bolsonaro, in which he claims to be innocent of the accusations.
“... I have always committed myself to combating all forms of harassment, repelling any and all forms of violence, in any of its possible configurations. The reported accusations are not true (…) they do not reflect my professional or personal position”, she said.
