Japanese company imposes time restriction and reaps benefits
An act of hope from a 75-year-old Japanese man
It all started when the Japanese Fuminori Tsuchiko arrived in Ukraine, in the city of Kharkiv, and found thousands of people who arrived in the country after the Russian invasion. Tsuchiko then realized that he would like to help them all.
According to the Japanese, the situation that moved him the most was when he saw many of them living in subway stations. For him, imagining that all those refugees were forced to leave the country because of a bombing was heartbreaking.
When he decided to stay in the country, Tsuchiko volunteered to stay at subway stations and do volunteer food distribution work.
After all, how did coffee come about?
At the time he worked as a volunteer, Tsuchiko met a Ukrainian and the 75-year-old opened a free cafe with him in Kharkiv. The purpose of the establishment was to distribute food free of charge. This happens thanks to the donations they receive from Japanese via social media.
The cafe was named FuMi Caffe and, according to its owners, serves about 500 people a day.
How was the start of Tsuchiko's relationship with Ukraine?
The Japanese says he visited the country in 2022. Afterwards, she went to Poland and resided in the capital, Warsaw. However, two months later she decided to return to Ukraine.
Many people who go to the cafe and play the role of donor say that Mr. Tsuchiko's gesture is impressive. They add saying that nowadays it is difficult to find people who sacrifice their own life to help others.
