Simple and cheap recipe for homemade detergent
One of the world's biggest concerns today is how to eliminate or at least reduce the emission of petroleum-derived chemical agents that are scattered daily in nature, because in addition to harming the fauna and flora, these residues are not biodegradable, that is, they are highly pollutants.
In addition to the issue of sustainability, many of these chemical compounds cause skin irritation and allergies. For these and other reasons, making homemade detergent is an excellent alternative. So, see the ingredients and method of preparation below.
Ingredients for homemade detergent
- 6 tablespoons (soup) of bicarbonate;
- 200 ml of vinegar;
- 4 liters of boiling water;
- 12 liters of cold water;
- 12 tablespoons of salt;
- 10 liters of used vegetable oil, but purified;
- 1.5 kg of 99% soda flakes;
- 1 kg of soap powder;
- 3 liters of warm water.
Step by step to prepare the detergent
- First of all, put on goggles, gloves and a mask to protect yourself.
- Then dissolve the soda in warm water. Soon after, add the purified used oil along with the soap powder and stir for five minutes.
- Put the twelve tablespoons of salt in the mixture and keep stirring for 40 minutes. After this time, pour it into molds and wait until it hardens. This initial part was soap preparation, now let's go to the detergent.
- Place 700g of grated homemade soap in a container and add boiling water. Then mix the baking soda, vinegar, cold water and a tablespoon of salt. Add a little coloring if you like. Mix well and let stand for 5 and a half hours before bottling.
You should preferably use this detergent to clean floors and grouts, as it is ideal for heavy cleaning. Another information is that, if you want to prepare a smaller amount of this product to test, just reduce the ingredients in the recipe by half.
