Teenager shoots classmates at school in Ceará
This case happened at the State School of Sobral in Ceará. A 15-year-old boy took a gun and shot three classmates. Two of the victims were shot in the head; one of them remains in serious condition. There have been no deaths so far. The third victim was injured, but was quickly rescued and taken to the hospital.
The apprehended boy confessed in his statement that the act was premeditated, as he would have been a victim of bullying. This case is still being investigated by the Civil Police of Ceará, which discovered that the revolver used belonged to a family member of the teenager. Still according to the police and people who were present at the time of the incident, the boy fired the gun without taking it out of his backpack, all during one of the breaks between classes.
In the process, he shot the three victims, all first-year high school students at the aforementioned school. The one in serious condition is also only 15 years old. He is intubated in the hospital while the second young man was discharged. The third boy was shot in the leg, so he will need surgery to remove the lodged projectile.
These were the news passed on by the hospital that received the victims after the tragedy. The population is still incredulous about what happened, because something like this is not usual nor expected from teenagers.
What could have caused this to happen?
According to specialists, tragedies like these occur because of the large number of weapons that have been circulating in the country for some years now. Today people manage to acquire guns – legally or illegally – and do not take the necessary care with these tools, which causes them to end up in the hands of people who should not have, in any way, access to they.
