INSS retirees and pensioners can now issue the 'Beneficiary Card'

It was launched this Monday (22) by National Institute of Social Security (INSS), the so-called 'Beneficiary Card', which can be acquired by retirees and pensioners maintained by the agency.

The new document was launched to serve as one of the ways to verify if the citizen is receiving any benefit from the INSS.

In addition, the beneficiary can use this document to benefit from an “exclusive privileges” program, as in the famous advantage clubs, where you can access discounts on services through Banco do Brasil and Caixa Econômica Federal.

How to issue the Beneficiary Card?

Requesting the issuance of the new card is quite simple. The step by step is as follows:

1. Access the app (android | iOS) or the site from the Meu INSS platform;
2. On the home page, look for the option 'Beneficiary Wallet' and click on it;
3. Then select a photo to put in the wallet;
4. Then, confirm that you are 'aware that when presenting the card, the benefit data will be shared through the QR Code'. Finally, click on ‘continue’;
5. After this step, the portfolio will be available in the Meu INSS system and can be freely accessed by retirees or pensioners.

Before launching the Beneficiary Card, INSS users needed to enter the system and raise specific documentation to prove their relationship with the body.

Now, with the ease brought by the new document, it will no longer be necessary to use paper or print any receipts.

And the “advantages club”, how does it work?

In the first place, it is worth mentioning that the advantages that can be accessed through the new Beneficiary Card are associated with the banking institution in which the beneficiary receives his payments.

INSS beneficiaries generally receive their earnings through Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil.

However, according to the Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, the intention is to establish formal agreements with other financial institutions, so that they also participate in the program.

To check which benefits are available, the insured must access the website of the respective bank from which he receives his benefit. The most common benefits are discounts at cinemas and pharmacies.

Once aware of the possibility of a discount at a given establishment, retirees or pensioners can go to the location and present their ID card to be entitled to the benefit.
