One group will lose Bolsa Família
The change in government will influence the largest social program in the country, something that was already expected to happen. The value may increase, that is, the R$ 600 should be maintained with an increase of R$ 150 for families with children up to 6 years old. Some cuts are also planned for some beneficiaries.
In addition to the change of name expected for the month of January, approved through the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC), the program will also do a kind of fine-tooth comb on some beneficiaries.
This means that there will be feature cuts for some people. Check out the details!
Fine-tooth comb will affect a lot of people
Around 20 million families currently have access to Auxílio Brasil. The next government intends to increase the value of the benefit to R$ 600, as the installments in that amount would end in December 2022.
To keep it, the government is looking for an alternative, so it proposed a new fine-tooth comb for policyholders who receive the benefit. So far, it has been estimated that a large number of people receive the program improperly, as they do not fit the proposed rules.
The focus of the fine-tooth comb will be to remove the resource from people who receive it and do not live with their families. They are what they call single-person families, as indicated. The Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) suggested that the groups are separating so that they can create individual records, making them receive more than one benefit.
As disclosed, there are 4 million single-person families that receive these amounts. As of February, these millions of families received a summons through the Centro de Reference of Social Assistance (CRAS) so that they can prove that they are receiving the benefit of correct form.
