An observatory in Hawaii has captured a mysterious spiral in the sky on video. The image quickly spread across the internet, causing speculation and debate. Some people believe that this is evidence of extraterrestrial life, but others believe that it could be a natural phenomenon or even an optical illusion.
What can it be?

Video shows large fascinating spiral in the sky of Hawaii. Check out the hypotheses and what, in fact, is the curious spiral.
Aurora Vortex
What appears to be a spiral-shaped luminous column was seen in the sky for several minutes before disappearing. Some astronomy experts believe it could be a phenomenon known as the "Aurora Vortex", caused by solar wind particles interacting with Earth's atmosphere. On the other hand, the Aurora Vortex theory does not fully explain the unique and mysterious nature of the spiral captured in the video.
What was captured in the video?
After analyzing the footage, experts came to the conclusion that the mysterious spiral is, in reality, the result of a launch by the company SpaceX, by Elon Musk, of a satellite of the type GPS. The company made a launch at the request of the United States space force.
“The Subaru-Asahi Star Camera captured a mysterious flying spiral over Maunakea, Hawaii. The spiral appears to be related to the launch of a new satellite by the company SpaceX,” the observatory posted on Twitter.
What causes the spiral?
In a report made by SpaceX, which explained the event, the Falcon 9 rocket expels unused fuel during its descent into the ocean. That's why sometimes when the rocket descends in a spiral it can cause this effect. One identical to the one captured by the observatory.
"Similar spirals have been seen after previous Falcon 9 launches," the report said.
The company led by Elon Musk has been carrying out tests and launching rockets frequently through the skies, so images like these at night are becoming more and more common. Generally, when seen with the naked eye, they can cause confusion in those who are observing the sky on a starry day.
They can confuse what they see with other galaxies, stars and even planets.
