Difference between PIS and Pasep

The Social Integration Program, PIS, seeks to integrate private sector employees with the development of companies, in addition to being Caixa's responsibility. Pasep, on the other hand, is the Civil Servant Asset Formation Program, which works as a fund intended for employees of the public sector, being these employees of the Union, States, Municipalities and Federal District.

Who is entitled to the “forgotten” PIS/Pasep?

Basically, the withdrawal of these allowances, as it is linked to the PIS/Pasep, is directed only to citizens who worked in private companies (PIS) or public companies (Pasep) between 1971 and 1988. Because of this, all collections are made to the Fundo de Amparo ao Trabalhador, which previously helped pay for the 1988 Unemployment Insurance Program.

In addition, companies and public bodies that deposit money in PIS/Pasep on behalf of their employees and contractors are part of this list. After all, each worker has a share of the fund.

Thus, taxpayers who worked until that year and did not withdraw the benefit can have access to these amounts in their accounts. In addition, it is important to understand that the values can be different in each case and must vary greatly between the time of contribution to the program. In fact, they will only be available in some cases, such as retirement, malignant neoplasm, AIDS and age over 60 years.

Where to find payment information?

For individuals who carried out activities and contributed to the fund during this period, it is possible to access information about amounts, conditions and payment dates on the FGTS portal. In the case of employees of private companies, consultations are also available on the Caixa website, while public employees must access the Banco do Brasil portal.
