Can you guess which toothpick can be moved?
This is a pretty easy quiz where, with a little basic math, you can come up with some simple solutions. Here, we selected the fastest answer at the end of the post, but beware: seeing the result before trying takes away all the meaning and reason for this mental test. So choose to see the answer without solving the equation only if you've tried everything - and preferably after timing the time. Look the following picture:
There are, in total, 17 matchsticks combined to form the number 369. You must move only one toothpick. The rules for completing the challenge are quite simple:
- The test says nothing about adding a toothpick. Therefore, it is not worth saying that I would add an 18th toothpick there in the number 6 to form the number 389, for example.
- No matchstick can be excluded, that is, we must keep the 17 matchsticks.
- Use your creativity! Sticks can change orientation. That is, if a toothpick is vertical, it can go horizontal. If a matchstick has its head (match) facing right, it can turn left. Just as it can leave the vertical and go to the horizontal, and vice versa. The sky is the limit!
Respecting these rules, you already have chances to create some assertive combinations for the challenge.

The expected moment has arrived. If you are in the habit of doing virtual puzzles frequently, the tip is: always write down which challenge was done and the time it took you to solve it. This will help you gain perspective on your evolution and how your brain is getting used to challenges.
If you didn't do so well this time, don't be disappointed: all evolution starts from trial and error. Surely, you've already got it right just by trying! And this was the result:
As said, there are other options: move the top toothpick of the number 9 and place it in the upper right corner of the number 6, forming 384, for example. So explore more possibilities!
