The fine for users harmed by the product will cost the apple company a trifle of US$ 50 million in its coffers. However, this does not mean that everyone will receive this amount.
According to the North American press, 86 thousand people will be compensated. Individually, they will receive an amount between US$50 and US$395.
District Judge Edward Davila, of San José (California, United States), completely rejected the objections of the apple. According to him, the agreement is reasonable.
He says he is aware that not all those who suffered damage from the defective keyboard on MacBooks will be compensated. However, "the settlement benefits a significant number of individuals," the judge said in an interview with Reuters.
