Why does my stove burner not turn on?

There are several causes for your stove to malfunction. One of them, as mentioned above, may be poor hygiene, as dust particles accumulate inside and cause clogging. Another factor could be the gas running out or having the record closed.

In addition, nozzles may be clogged, burners may be dirty or wet, and burners or hobs may be incorrectly seated. One way to identify if the mouth is clogged is to watch the stove flames. If the flames are yellow, it is a sign that there is a problem.

How to unclog the stove mouth?

Unclogging the stove mouth is easy. The first step is to turn off the gas to avoid accidents. Then remove the trivets (grids) that support the pots. Clean them with a damp cloth and let them dry while you unclog your mouth.

After that, remove the lids from the stove burners. Use a sharp object, such as a needle, or even a stove needle sold in construction material stores. Then place it in the little hole that is on the inside where the flame comes out. One tip is to use your cell phone flashlight to see better.

Once the needle passes easily, pull it out. Put the stove burner back and clean the area around it with soap and water. Place the grates, turn the gas back on and light the flame. Ready! You'll see the difference after unclogging all the vents, as the flames will get stronger and bluer.
