Each year, ARWU evaluates and ranks more than 3,044 universities, selecting the top 1,000 for its final list. The numbers are eagerly awaited, as they reflect the academic and scientific performance of institutions around the world.
Among Brazilian institutions, the University of São Paulo (USP) leads the national representation, followed by the São Paulo State University (Unesp) and the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
