Usually children are ready to be literate at the age of 6, however little Teddy Hobbs, in the United Kingdom United, he learned to read without even his parents noticing at the age of 2 while watching TV and playing games on his tablet.

His mother, Beth Hobbs, claims that Teddy at 26 months already knew how to read, because when watching television, he copied the sound of each of the letters. In addition, the boy also has the amazing ability to learn languages, he can currently count up to 100 in several languages, including Mandarin, Welsh, French, Spanish and German.

Teddy, unlike other children of the same age, does not usually show much interest in video games or watching television, he is much more interested in hobbies such as word searches.

How did the process happen?

Teddy's mother claims that she always made a point of leaving her son with lots of books around, but the ease with which the child learned information was really surprising.

Beth Hobbs, Teddy's mother adds: “At 26 months, he taught himself to read. He then moved on to numbers and was learning multiplication table. The following Christmas, we bought him a tablet to play with. But instead, he taught himself to count to 100 in Mandarin.”

Because Teddy's abilities are really amazing for a kid his age, his parents started to seek professionals to evaluate him and at 3 years and 7 months, the boy was placed in evaluation with professionals.

Teddy becomes UK's youngest Mensa boy

In late 2022, Teddy was put on a Stanford Binet IQ test and scored a 139 out of 160, giving an IQ of 99.5 for kids his age. In addition, the boy presented letter and word recognition in a similar way to an 8-year-old and 10-month-old child.
