Woman leaves date over $3; understand the story

Turn and turn, stories of disastrous love encounters go viral on social media. This one is no different. A woman used her TikTok account to recount her latest date with a somewhat… shall we say… cheapskate man. Romanticism disappeared from the table on account of $3.

For the more than 6.7 million people who watched the video on TikTok, Dafna Diamant reported that the sum of US$ 3 made her leave the meeting without even saying goodbye to the boy.

“Why am I doing this to myself?”, asks Dafna at the beginning of the video. She begins to tell that she and the suitor have arranged to go out to dinner at a restaurant.

“Things are going well and the waitress comes over to take our order,” she continues. The internet user orders a fish on an Italian dish, while the man chooses the hamburger.

The waitress asked the man for details of his order and asked if he would like a little more

cheese. Faced with the boy's affirmative, the worker explained that it would be US$ 3 more. “Never mind,” replied the man.

Until then, Dafna said, she hadn't been so upset. Turns out the man kept complaining about the extra value for the cheese. “My God, you have to pay extra for everything these days,” she narrated.

Then she got up saying she was going to the bathroom. However, she went to the register, paid the full bill and left. On the way home, she said, he texted that she'd taken care of the backlog and that he "should have gotten the extra cheese."

Shot backfired

If the woman thought people would side with her on this romantic date anecdote, it backfired. In the comments, netizens harshly criticized the woman's attitude, especially the fact that she left without saying anything.

Furthermore, many people agreed with the guy and would not pay US$ 3 (approximately R$ 15 in current exchange rates) just for extra cheese.

And the man on the date?

Well, he showed up! Zakir used the same social network to give his side of the story. “I intended to pay $21 for the burger,” he explained. “So adding $3 for cheese is not worth it,” he added.

The man then thanked Dafna for paying the bill.
