Historian Claims to Have Found Iconic Art Bridge Mona Lisa

Vicenti claims that the bridge in Vinci's painting is the Romito bridge that spans the Arno River. Details revealed to the press in Rome indicated the number of arches, as Leonardo's has four arches, similar to Romito's bridge. Documents that are in the possession of the Medici family reveal that in 1501 and 1503 the bridge was busy and frequented.

For the historian, it was at the same time that Leonardo was in Val d'Arno and the bridge served as a shortcut to travel along the paths of Arezzo, Fiesole and Florence. Vincenti then measured both the river and the arch, and saw that they would be the same size as what Leonardo had painted.
