For some people it may seem new, but for some time the two companies lost positions in the Glassdoor ranking. If in 2021 Meta occupied the 11th place on the list, in 2022 the negative jump resulted in the 47th position on the list.
Apple, on the other hand, has not been close to the top 10 for some time. In 2020, it occupied the 31st place on the list, while in the year 2022 it moved to the 56th position.
Daniel Zhao, lead economist at Glassdoor, says the absence of tech giants from this list is a striking phenomenon. After all, for many years, these companies were considered one of the best places to work because of flexible benefits and high salaries.
What does the output represent in practice?
According to Zhao, the loss of position of companies does not mean that they have become terrible work environments. They just lost positions due to the fact that the market is more competitive.
The list began to be made in 2008. Since then, Apple has been there every time, and Meta has been among the top 100 companies to work for since 2011.
And if for the technology giants this may have been bad news, other companies have come to appear as best places to work, is the case of Spotify, considered the biggest music streaming app in the world. world.
How is the ranking done?
To determine whether a company is a good place to work, Glassdoor asks employees to anonymously rate the company, on a scale of 1, very dissatisfied, to 5, very satisfied. The company must have at least one thousand employees and the survey period was from October 2021 to October 2022.
Today, Glassdoor's top 10 best places to work are made up of the following companies:
- Gainsight;
- Box;
- Bain & Company;
- McKinsey & Company;
- Nvidia;
- MathWorks;
- Boston Consulting Group;
- Google;
- ServiceNow;
- In-N-Out-Burger.
