Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced Meta Verified on his social media accounts on Sunday. Testing for the new service will start this week in New Zealand and Australia, with expansion to other countries coming soon.
To get a blue badge on their Facebook and Instagram account, users will be able to subscribe to Meta Verified. The subscription service will cost $11.99 per month on the web and $14.99 per month on Apple and Android operating systems. Verification will be done through a government identification, which will give more credibility to the account.
