Union approves the allocation of R$ 7.3 billion for the nursing floor

The Law Project (PL) approving the investment of R$ 7.3 billion for the payment of the national salary floor for nursing professionals.

The sanction was published in this Friday's edition (12) of the Official Diary of the Union. The publication date coincided with the celebrations of the International Nursing Day.

As established by Law No. 14,434, the new base salary for nursing professionals hired by the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) is R$ 4,750.

Nursing technicians will receive at least BRL 3,325, while nursing assistants and midwives will be entitled to BRL 2,375 in salary. The new minimum wages apply to both public and private sector workers.

According to data from the Federal Nursing Council, there are more than 2.8 million professionals in the area in the country, including 693.4 thousand nurses, 450 thousand nursing assistants and 1.66 million nursing technicians, in addition to around 60 thousand midwives.
