MG Motor was founded in 2006 and markets vehicles under the classic slogan of MG, a British automaker created in the 1920s. The company originated after the collapse of the MG Rover group and is now a subsidiary of SAIC Motor, a Chinese state-owned company headquartered in Shanghai.
New electric SUV from MG Motor
The Standard Range, in terms of autonomy, is better than the ZS by 58 km due to its 51.1 kWh battery. It is more powerful and, therefore, gives it approximately 6 kWh more than that observed in the version standard.
What is the value of the new model?
At first, the price of the new electric car is 27,495 pounds, equivalent to about R$ 195,000. As a result, it becomes one of the most affordable electric vehicles in the entire UK, with great value for money. It is behind the Mazda CX-30, a car with a range of 200 km and a battery capacity of 35.5 kWh.
Power and acceleration improvements
As well as the Long Range model, the Standard Range has three trim levels, namely: SE, Trophy and Trophy Connect. All are equipped with the same electric motor, however, the power has significantly improved compared to the previous version, from 141 hp to 173 hp.
Furthermore, the time for the new ZS to go from 0 to 100 km/h is also just 8 seconds. Thus, there was an increase of half a second when compared to the previous model. Therefore, the Standard also excels in this regard, even if it is a seemingly small difference.
And the recharge?
Finally, regarding the recharge of this new model, it is very fast and effective. The vehicle takes just 36 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, provided a 100kW fast charger is used.
