After Auxílio Emergencial came to an end, the Federal Government restructured what was Bolsa Família to become what is now known as Auxílio Brasil, whose payments are higher. In addition to it, it also created some extra benefits that are helping the population in the face of the country's economic crisis.

Brazil Aid: who is entitled to this benefit?

It can be said that the requirements are very simple, as they characterize the real needs of people. Individuals who can apply for this assistance are family members who are meeting the following requirements:

  • Are in poverty;
  • Are or are heading towards a situation of extreme poverty;
  • They are under emancipation rule.

In addition to the need of the situation of social vulnerability, it is essential that families have also: pregnant women, nursing mothers or children, teenagers and young adults under the age of 21 years.

Another very significant need is that all members of the family group be registered in the Cadastro Único system (CadÚnico) and that they update their information within a period of two years.

Can the Brazil Aid benefit really be frozen?

The deadline for citizens who needed to update their data in CadÚnico expired on August 12, however the Ministry of Citizenship made it clear that the procedure was necessary to prevent transfers to millions of families from being suspended.

With the help of this procedure, many people managed to prevent the freezing of social benefits such as Assistance Brazil, Vale-gas, Benefit of Continuous Provision (BPC), Social Electricity Tariff (TSEE) and countless others.

If you have not updated your data, your benefit will be frozen

On the other hand, if the records are not corrected, these programs may end up being suspended. With this, payments of R$ 600 will be frozen, especially if it is found that the requirements are not met.

It is essential to note that the government uses CadÚnico as its main tool to include low-income families in all the programs listed above, especially the all-important Aid Brazil.
