The 1.2 m long, fluffy, deadly and extremely fast snake was spotted “walking”. This fact shocked many people who don't know that snakes walk.
Therefore, biologist specialist in snakes, Henrique Abrahão, explains how this happened through a video published on his TikTok profile.
“The snakes can do the snaking type of movement, they can do the accordion type movement, and she can do the also this caterpilla movement (…) a snake is a pure ‘my brother’ rib, and then the centipede aspect”, he explains Abraham.
When publishing the video, the biologist still makes a point of joking and puts the following comment as a caption, “Snake Biúta, deadly and cute at the same time”.
In the video, it is possible to see the snake moving as if it were a caterpillar, which, despite being apparently cute, is quite scary when it comes to such a dangerous species.
The Cobra biúta
Cobra biúta is a common snake in the African continent. It is considered the most dangerous snake in Africa for being the main responsible for snake bites on the continent. In addition, the biúta has a deadly venom and is also considered the fastest snake in the world.
When it feels threatened, the biúta snake inflates its body and emits a sound to make it appear bigger and stronger, thus discouraging any approach.
The snake that bites people the most Africa it has poison that causes pain, swelling, necrosis and if the victim does not receive due care quickly, it even causes death.
Because it has an appearance that is easily camouflaged with the leaves, it is often stepped on, which, consequently, generates a series of accidents.
Where can we find them?
The species is easily found in savannas, mountain slopes and semi-desert regions of southern Africa. Fortunately, it is not endangered, but they are persecuted and killed quite often because it is a poisonous species.
