There is a resource available at Google Maps that allows you to rate and leave reviews about places you've visited. Such information, although voluntary, is extremely useful, since it aims to talk about the your experience in a certain place and, thus, it is possible to have an idea if it is good or not for you to go there there.
In today's article, we're going to talk a little about this feature and the change in Google Maps review guidelines.

What is the update on Google Maps?
In addition to allowing you to rate certain locations, this feature of the application also allows you to post photos of the location, whether the environment is under renovation, values, hygiene, among other aspects.
To share a review on Google Maps, you'll need to open the app and search for the location you want to review. Then scroll down the search bank and click on “Evaluate”. To rate the place, click on the number of stars you want and, if you wish, you can add a comment to talk about your experience in detail.
Please note that some reviews may be removed from the app due to policy violations, spam or inappropriate content. This ensures that reviews found on the Google Maps platform will always be useful and reliable.
Due to the growth of this resource, many companies/people started to offer incentives for the author of a certain negative review about their place to revise their opinions. As a result, Google Maps has updated its review guidelines to prohibit such review requests or the removal of negative reviews due to discounts offered.
Therefore, if someone leaves a negative review of a certain place, even if it is of interest to you, you are not authorized to encourage this author to revise your review or remove it in order to obtain any reward.
