Since the morning of November 28th, the Muana Loa volcano, considered the largest in the world, has been in eruption. It is the first in 38 years and is already frightening the local population, who have started to evacuate the region little by little. Despite this, so far no evacuation orders have been issued since the Hawaiian volcano returned to activity.

About the eruption of the volcano
It has been two weeks since the eruption started and it has totally scared the population as the same has been inactive for a long time. Along with the eruption, it was possible to record small low-intensity earthquakes across the Big Island of Hawaii. Still, there were no warnings from the government to carry out an evacuation.
Not all citizens were willing to wait for an order, so they started – right from the start – an evacuation of the area on their own. In large part, the decision to withdraw from the site came because of the fears of people who grew up hearing stories of the explosions of the volcano “Montanha Longa”.
This is one of six volcanoes that have been active over the past 200 years. Since 1834, Mauna Loa has erupted at least 33 times. Therefore, he was in the imagination of an entire generation that even grew up without seeing the phenomenon with their own eyes, so they were very scared with his return to activity.
Chaos must be coming to an end
According to US monitoring agencies, the critical phase of the eruption has already ended, but this does not means that there should be no worries, after all, the volume of lava that came out of the volcano was very big. This has resulted in numerous “hot spots” across the region that are visible to much of the population.
The expectation is that these lava points can still be seen for a few weeks.
It is worth mentioning that during times of intense flow of Mauna Loa, the lava waves could be seen from 50 kilometers away. Still, scientists believe that activity should not start again in the coming years, according to the volcano's history.
