Google translator will be improved with AI
Google announced that Google Translate will receive new features with AI. The main novelty is the context that will be given to the translations. This will help users to translate words with meanings that vary depending on the context.
According to the note from Google, the user will have the necessary information to translate accurately, in addition to local language expressions or more appropriate words.
So far, the languages that already receive this new functionality are English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. Google informs that the novelty should arrive for all languages, but without a confirmed date.
Other features
According to Google, the translation tool will also receive the novelty of an adjustable dynamic font as the text is typed. In addition, users will receive alternative translations and dictionary definitions.
Another feature that arrives with the new update is image translation. This feature will be associated with Google Lens, which uses the cell phone camera to search and now translate images.
Furthermore, Google wants to make the user experience more accessible, reducing the number of clicks and making it easier to switch languages, with new gestures, such as holding the language button and switching to another with the gesture to slide. Dynamic font that automatically adjusts will make the tool more readable.
The company also wants to add new languages to the translator, such as Basque, Corsican, Hawaiian, Hmong, Kurdish, Luxembourgish, Sudanese, Latin, Yiddish and Zulu.
